One of the new group of protein modifiers is called SUMO (Small Ubiquitin-related Modifier). SUMO has a similar sequence to Ubiquitin. The Sumoylation pathway is similar to that of Ubiquitin, but different enzymes are required for each protein modifier. The majority of SUMO targets are nuclear. The binding of SUMO to a target may lead to
*Subcellular localisation of proteins
*Regulation / modification of protein function
*Regulation of protein stability
ImmunoKontact has a range of products to assist in the study of Sumoylation, such as SUMO-1, SUMO-2, SUMO-3, NEDD8, PIAS, SENP, Topo and Ubiquitin.
To find out more about these products either search for your specific reagent of interest in our Product Search box, or e-mail IKinfo@amsbio.com for our current sumoylation listing to be e-mailed to you.
